A nutritionist explained why older people should not abuse fruit

Older people should not abuse fruits, this is fraught with problems with the liver, said dietitian Elena Solomatina.
According to her, the cause is the fructose contained in the fruit. With large amounts of it entering the body, the liver tries to compensate for this process.
“Ultimately, the organ ceases to perform its function normally and non-alcoholic hepatosis develops, that is, fatty liver,” the doctor said.
She also noted that the abuse of fruits can cause allergies. Solomatina recommended that older people limit themselves to one or two fruits a day, unless there are contraindications.
