Starting December 30, a new skating rink will open in the Davydovsky microdistrict of Kostroma. It was built according to the national project “Demography” and is not just a court flooded with water, but a completely stationary structure, equipped with a refrigeration unit, which can subsequently maintain ice cover even in summer. This was reported by VGTRK Kostroma.

A separate element of the new sports facility will be a UAZ loaf, which is equipped with attachments that allow you to polish artificial ice, trimming its surface before competitions.

The 250-meter-long ice track is intended primarily for training junior speed skaters from the Golubev Olympic Reserve School, who will soon move here from the Urozhay stadium. Amateur Kostroma residents will also be able to use the skating rink on weekdays and in the evenings, when the skating rink is free from training.

For the convenience of visitors to the skating rink, there is a warm locker room, skate rentals and dry closets. And for the safety of athletes, the sides of the court are made soft.

The head of the new sports base, Maxim Khvorostyany, is confident that in the near future the new skating rink in the Davydovsky microdistrict will become an attractive place for holding speed skating competitions.
