General Director of the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) Denis Butsaev told RIA Novosti that the company plans to develop a neural network to search for violations at landfills. Work on the creation of the neural network is planned to be completed by mid-2024.
“Based on artificial intelligence, we will make predictive models regarding the functioning of a particular facility, including a waste disposal facility,” said Mr. Butsaev.
According to him, the neural network will respond to violations by analyzing data from overflights. Among the violations that will be recorded are the lack of weight control, bypass channels, the presence of birds, smoldering and fires.
Since January 1, 2019, REO has been overseeing the “garbage” reform. The company’s tasks include the implementation of legislation in the field of solid waste management, development and improvement of this area.
