A navigator for admission to pedagogical universities has been launched for schoolchildren

The Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, has launched a website: be a teacher.rf, where 153 universities of the country talk about what areas of study they offer in undergraduate, specialist and graduate programs. So far, there are 430 areas of training on the list.

In particular, three areas of training are offered at the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University this year: “elementary education”, “special (defectological) direction” and “speech therapy”. There are two areas of training at the Moscow State Linguistic University – “practical psychology in education” and “a teacher of physics and a teacher of additional education.” There are five areas of training at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, five areas of study at the Russian State Social University, and 26 areas of training at the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

As Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova noted, 2023 has been declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor by the President of Russia.

– This is an undoubted recognition of the importance, high status and prestige of the teaching profession. Among the primary tasks of this year are social and methodological support for teachers, new approaches to the professional growth of teachers. First of all, we want to pay due respect to the teaching profession and increase the interest of young people in pedagogy, to attract ambitious, talented children to pedagogical specialties who will work in new, modern schools throughout the country,” said Tatyana Golikova.

It is assumed that the navigator will be able to offer applicants an optimal selection of universities, as well as orient young people in their advantages and characteristics.

– It is thanks to teachers that scientists appear who glorify domestic science, doctors who selflessly save human lives every day, great teachers and many others. More than two million teachers and mentors work in our country, and thanks to the consistent work and support of teachers, the interest of school graduates in pedagogical specialties is growing, – said the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

You can choose an educational institution in the navigator by the level of education – from secondary vocational to doctoral studies and additional education programs, region and direction – from school mathematics to specialized subjects (engineering and computer graphics, psychology, etc.).
