A Muscovite killed his disabled brother, and then lived with the deceased for another two months and even received a pension. The deception was revealed thanks to the smell, which the 51-year-old criminal tried unsuccessfully to fight.

As MK learned, the family drama took place in a residential building on Leninsky Prospekt. Two brothers lived here, one of whom suffered from cerebral palsy since childhood. The men’s father, Lieutenant Colonel of the Ministry of Defense, died back in 1999, the mother died in 2015. After that, all worries about the disabled person fell on the shoulders of the older brother. He coped with the duties of a nurse poorly because he abused alcohol. Over the years, his brother’s illness only worsened. On one October day in 2021, a man had an epileptic attack, he fell and convulsed. The older brother tried to bring him to his senses, but in a rather strange way – he began to move him around the floor and squeeze his throat. In the end, a relative broke the disabled man’s neck, and he died.

The killer realized that he could profit from his brother’s death. He laid the corpse on the bed, did not call an ambulance, and continued to live an ordinary life – that is, abuse alcohol. Periodically, he ventilated the room so as not to bother the neighbors with the stinking smell. When the postman brought a pension for a disabled person, the owner introduced himself as his brother and showed his passport. This happened twice – in October and November, in total the attacker stole more than 50 thousand rubles. Only in December, a local police officer, visiting the brothers during a door-to-door inspection, smelled a strange scent and forced his brother to confess to the murder. The corpse had been lying on the bed all this time, but was already badly decomposed.

The Cheryomushkinsky court sentenced the man to 8 years and 1 month in a maximum security colony.
