“Only you can prevent this”
Moscow schoolboy Nikita Demidov wrote a letter to President Vladimir Putin on his birthday. We publish without cuts.
“Hello, Vladimir Vladimirovich!
My name is Nikita Demidov, I am 13 years old, I live in Moscow.
I want to congratulate you on your Anniversary and on your 70th birthday, wish you health, longevity, wise decisions, new political victories and, most importantly, peace for all of us, so that there are no more conflicts. After all, only the world can save the world!
I study at school, write music and make the program “Children’s Album”, in which I talk about the history of unusual musical instruments, as well as about famous composers who have dedicated part of their work to children. But lately, all this seems to me not the most important, because I’m scared.
I am very worried that in recent months, and especially weeks and days, I have been constantly hearing about the possibility of using the most terrible on Earth – nuclear weapons. And it scares me! None of us wants to die under radioactive ash! No one wishes this to others, equally peaceful people and children, who unwittingly, but inevitably, can become victims.
We want to live, enjoy life and prosper together with Russia! But it is also clear to children that if it comes to even the smallest nuclear explosion, all this will be impossible …
Vladimir Vladimirovich, I am sure that only you can prevent such a terrible development of events.
Birthday is a time for gifts. They say that in some countries there is a tradition according to which the birthday person makes gifts on his birthday. Therefore, on this day, I really want to ask you: please give us all the opportunity to live without fear again.
Thanks in advance! Let’s believe in the best!
Once again Happy Birthday!
