A monument to Evgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin, leaders of the Wagner PMC, was unveiled on the territory of the memorial chapel near the Molkino training ground (the city of Goryachiy Klyuch) in the Krasnodar Territory. This is reported by Telegram channel “PMC Wagner. Reports.” On the pedestal, instead of names and surnames, the call signs of the victims are written – First and Ninth.

The memorial in Goryachy Klyuch was built on the territory of a chapel founded in 2018 in memory of the company’s soldiers who died in Syria and other local conflicts. The choice of location is due to the fact that the Molkino training ground, where the PMC was based, is located nearby. The territory of the chapel is fenced, there is no free access there.

The Ekaterinodar diocese explained to Kommersant that the chapel was built on private territory and does not fall under the jurisdiction of the local diocese. Divine services are conducted there by priests who come at the invitation of the company. The cemetery where fighters of the Wagner PMC were buried, who had no relatives, is located in the village of Baku, not far from Goryachiy Klyuch.
