A modern gym in the village of Chekhov on Sakhalin is 50% ready

In Chekhov, the largest sports complex in the region after the Kholmsk Arena is being built. Young football players, taekwondo players, as well as athletes of the older generation will train there as part of the Sakhalin Longevity project. The construction of the indoor universal sports hall began last spring, it should be completed this fall. This was reported in the press service of the government of the Sakhalin region.

In the sports complex in Chekhov there will be a spacious hall measuring 42 by 33 meters. Seats for spectators are provided. There will be an opportunity to hold competitions at both the district and regional levels.

“Guys from the children’s football team, pupils of the taekwondo section and other athletes will train here. There will be a gym for everyone. It is also planned to organize events within the framework of the Care 65+ project, – said Vitaly No, director of the department of culture, sports and youth policy of the district administration.

Now the guys from the taekwondo section are training in a small gym “Courage”.

“Classes are attended by about 30 children, I confess, sometimes it is crowded. For the same reason, it is difficult to hold competitions. Therefore, we cannot but rejoice at the construction of a modern sports complex in our village,” said Vyacheslav Kim, coach of the Chekhov taekwondo section. – The new gym will have all the conditions for comfortable training – a large hall, a coaching room, a wardrobe, stands for fans. It’s just wonderful!

The universal sports hall will have a dressing room, a medical worker’s office, and showers. The object is being erected in the area of ​​Parkovaya, Rudanovsky and Severnaya streets, near a new square, equipped in the village last year.

The contracting company has already completed the installation of the metal structures of the block where the sports hall will be located. At the same time, the construction of an administrative building is underway.

“Now the facility is 50% ready,” said Vladimir Alekseev, head of the YuVA company. – 80% of external communications are equipped. Now we proceed to the installation of the external panels of the gym. At the stage of completion, the manufacture of window blocks. The work is carried out strictly according to the schedule, without delays.

Recall that conditions for physical education and sports are being created in all regions of the Sakhalin Region. At the end of 2022, another sports and recreation complex was commissioned in the Kholmsky city district – on Pervomayskaya Street in the district center. In addition, an indoor hockey court is being built in Nogliki, a universal training sports complex with an ice arena in Makarov, and a sports complex in Ilyinsky, Tomarinsky district.
