In the hero city of Tula, a mini-football tournament was organized over the long weekend in memory of the internationalist warrior Alexander Chikhirev who died in the DRA.

The competition took place on the twenty-fourth of February at the Khimik Sports Complex in the village of Leninsky.

The Minister of Sports of the Tula Region, Dmitry Yakovlev, considers such competitions important and symbolic:

“We pay tribute to the memory of our fellow countryman, who by his example showed what honor and dignity are. Sport develops character and teaches responsibility.”

Teams from the hosts, the arms capital of Russia, Aleksin and Shchekino, took to the mini-football court.

“MK in Tula” wrote: our fellow countryman successfully performed in Suzdal at the Russian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship. Viktor Pochitaev, as part of the Central Federal District team in the weight category up to one hundred kilograms, won all five bouts, became the winner and will be included in the national team of the country.
