A medical student from Petrozavodsk won silver at a karate competition

As reported in the public page “Sport is the norm of life in Karelia,” Alena Nikiforova, a student at the Medical Institute of Petrozavodsk State University, took second place at the all-Russian all-style karate competition “Golden Ring of Russia.”
The competition took place on February 9-11 at the Palace of Team Sports in Ivanovo, where 1,100 athletes from 59 clubs and 29 regions of Russia came. Moreover, the current Russian and World Champions took part in the fights.
The athlete from the Karelian capital and her coach Sergei Dubin were congratulated on her worthy result and wished her future victories.
Previously reportedthat young athletes from Petrozavodsk won medals at the Russian championship.
