A math teacher from Salekhard won the All-Russian backgammon tournament and won a bracelet

Eleonora Okulevich, deputy head of the education department of the district capital, a mathematics teacher by profession, became the winner of the All-Russian backgammon tournament and received the coveted bracelet. On August 30, the press service of the city administration spoke about the success of the northerner.

“There were a lot of qualifying rounds. The fight was fierce. In the end, there were two winners. The first bracelet in the face-to-face tournament was won by the backgammon champion of Russia. The second – me – in an online tournament. I really wanted to win this bracelet,” Eleonora Okulevich shared her impressions.

The bracelet is made of silver, personalized, two golden zara stand out on it.

Eleonora Okulevich has been fond of backgammon since childhood, her father taught her to play. As the teacher admits, dad was a strong player, so she always wanted to beat him, but she still couldn’t succeed.

“One day it happened. One day, as an adult, I beat him three games in a row. I danced with happiness. My vacation was coming to an end and I was returning to Salekhard. Dad stood on the platform, and I yelled that I had taken the crown from him and now I am the queen of backgammon, ”recalls Eleonora Okulevich.

Severyanka is part of the Russian national team. Backgammon, the teacher noted, develop logical and spatial thinking.

Earlier we said that a pupil of the sports school of the Olympic reserve “Avangard” from Tarko-Sale Elena Tretyakova can go to Paris for the Paralympic Games – the girl will have a chance to perform at the Paralympics in 2024 if the Russians are allowed to compete.
