The press service of the FSB Directorate for the Rostov Region reported that a man was detained in the Rostov Region on suspicion of intelligence for the Ukrainian special services.

As the department noted, it was established that the Russian maintained confidential contact with a representative of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in order to assist in the implementation of intelligence activities directed against the security of Russia. It is noted that the suspect was detained.

The FSB also clarified that a criminal case was opened against the defendant under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization”), under which he faces up to eight years in prison.
