Karen Yengibaryan, who saved people from the concert hall on the day of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, died in the hospital. The Union of Armenians of Russia said that Mr. Yengibaryan inhaled carbon monoxide and caught a cold; he was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “acute respiratory tract infection.”

“35-year-old Karen was not far from Crocus at the time of the tragedy. He saw smoke on the roof of the concert hall and ran to the main entrance… Heroically, risking his life, he helped people: he pulled them out of the smoke, took them to the doctors and went back,” the union’s press service wrote in Telegram channel.

The farewell ceremony for Karen Yengibaryan will take place on March 30 at the Surb Khach Church in the Armenian Temple Complex. The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on the evening of March 22. Several armed men opened fire on people and then set the building on fire. According to the latest data, 144 people were killed and another 382 were injured.
