Dutch Prime Minister Rutte announced the inevitability of NATO negotiations with Russia

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who is running for the post of NATO Secretary General, announced the inevitability of negotiations between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia. His words are reported by the publication Politico.

The Prime Minister spoke during the Munich Security Conference and emphasized that only Ukraine can initiate peace negotiations with Russia. At the same time, he noted that Western leaders will also have to sit down at the negotiating table.

“But when this happens, we will also have to sit down at the negotiating table with the United States, within NATO, [и] collectively with the Russians to discuss future security arrangements,” Rutte said.

The author of the publication believes that such words may mean a hint from Amsterdam to push Ukraine to negotiate with Russia on freezing the conflict.
