Head of the Duma Committee on Regional Policy Mikhail Matveev informedthat next week a draft law on deprivation of acquired Russian citizenship in case of non-registration of the military will be submitted to the lower house of parliament for consideration.
In early August, the deputy announced that he intended to draft a law according to which newly minted Russians would have to register for military service within the time period specified by law. In case of non-compliance with such a requirement, the situation will end with “expulsion to the country from where such a“ non-citizen ”arrived,” Matveev said. He also said that “in this case, members of the migrant’s family should also be deprived of citizenship.”
“Bill <...> is ready and will be submitted to the State Duma next week,” the deputy announced on August 26.
