A Just Russia nominates Vladimir Piskaikin as governor of the Tyumen region

The Tyumen regional branch of the party “A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth” by secret ballot nominated the chairman of the council of the regional branch Vladimir Piskaykin for the election of the governor of the Tyumen region. This decision was unanimously adopted by the delegates of the branch conference on June 24, reported in social networks party representatives. Mr. Piskaikin announced his intention to participate in the elections to Kommersant already in March.
Elections of the governor of the Tyumen region will be held on 10 September. Four candidates have already been nominated to participate in them. Regional branch of the party “United Russia” decided send the incumbent governor Alexander Moor to re-election. In the intra-party vote, he competed with the deputies of the Tyumen Regional Duma Vladimir Pushkarev and Vladimir Fomin, but the conference delegates unanimously decided to support Mr. Moor.
Regional branch of the Communist Party put forward for the post of head of the region, deputy of the regional Duma from the Communist Party Ivan Levchenko. The LDPR decided to send Denis Sadovnikov, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the YNAO, to the elections. The coordinator of the Khanty-Mansiysk branch of the party Yevgeny Dannikov and the Yamal coordinator Andrey Kuznetsov spoke in his support. To participate in the elections, candidates must pass the municipal filter by collecting signatures of deputies of representative bodies in their support.
Previous elections of the governor of the Tyumen region passed in 2018. Then Alexander Moor scored 65.86% – he was supported by 816.2 thousand voters. The second place was taken by the deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma Artem Zaitsev (LDPR) – 12.99% (161.6 thousand votes). Ivan Levchenko (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) followed him with a small margin – 12.83% (159.8 thousand votes). The fourth place was taken by the vice-speaker of the regional Duma Vladimir Piskaykin (Fair Russia) – 5.77% (71.5 thousand votes).
