The party “A Just Russia – For Truth” has begun collecting signatures in support of Vladimir Putin’s candidacy in the presidential elections. Let us remember that they decided to abandon their own candidate and campaign for the current head of the Right Russia at the May congress.

The first street stands of Spravorossya were placed in the capital’s malls on Smolenskaya Square and Zemlyanoy Val. The organizers motivated the choice of location due to high traffic during the New Year’s period. However, party members do not set specific goals for themselves. “No, no KPI, nothing like that,” State Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev, who joined the collectors, assured Kommersant.

The process is taking place in “full coordination with the headquarters,” the parliamentarian added: “I did not encounter any resistance, I myself was at the central headquarters of the Popular Front, we talked in detail about media support and organizational work.” In a similar way, interaction is being built in the regions: for example, the Sverdlovsk branch of United Russia told Kommersant-Ural that they intend to sign a cooperation agreement with SRZP on December 29.

The Right Russia party intends to place signature collection points in all regions; the work will be organized by deputies. “I signed up for Kuban myself,” said Dmitry Gusev. “We agreed on interaction with the regional leadership, our other deputies will do the same in their regions.” In less than half an hour of work of the collectors in the Moscow shopping center, according to the calculations of a Kommersant correspondent, more than ten people left their signatures and passport data. Citizens refrained from commenting to the press, but they were more willing to talk to parliamentarians. “Everyone is talking about victory (in the Northern Military District.— “Kommersant”),” Mr. Gusev recounted. “The image of the president and the image of victory are inextricably linked.” The Socialist-Revolutionaries also did not encounter any misunderstanding from their own voters, the deputy assured: “On the contrary! Everyone understands that for these three months we need to put aside any political games, do the main thing and then get on with the elections.”
