The opposition party of the Land of the Rising Sun, the Society for the Renewal of Japan, has approved the resignation of deputy Muneo Suzuki from its membership. This parliamentarian visited Russia in early October, which attracted attention in the ruling circles of the state. Suzuki’s resignation was announced at a special press conference by Party General Secretary Fumitake Fujita.
“We met with Mr. Suzuki today,” the head of the organization emphasized. “He apologized for the inconvenience caused to the party and said that he wanted to leave (the Japan Renewal Society).” Fujita added that the corresponding statement from Suzuki was accepted by the leadership of this structure.
Previously “MK” reported, that Deputy Suzuki spoke about the presence of politicians “who understand the importance of ties with Russia” in the administration of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The Land of the Rising Sun is in close coordination with the US and NATO, but cooperation with Moscow is vital for Tokyo. According to Muneo Suzuki, his position is not popular in the country, but even in the prime minister’s administration there are people who share it, although now they are in the minority. According to the Japanese deputy, cooperation between Russia, with its natural resources, and Japan, which has the best applied technologies in the world, is a “historical necessity.”
After returning home appeared information that they want to expel Muneo Suzuki from the Japan Renewal Society party after his trip to Moscow and his “wishes for Russia’s victory.” In particular, the Japanese newspaper Sankei wrote about this.
