A graduate with 396 USE scores gave important advice to 11-graders

This year, 16 graduates turned out to have 300 points in the Unified State Examination, this is for the whole country; of them – four from Moscow. One of these four, a graduate of school No. 1391 in New Moscow, Uliana Kuklova, received 100 in literature, Russian language and social studies, and passed history with 96 points. Rosobrnadzor “MK” reported that according to the results of the main days of the Unified State Examination, there were no 400 points this year, that is, Ulyana showed the highest result.

Now the girl is on a “well-deserved” summer vacation before her academic year begins at Moscow State University, where she entered. At the same time, Ulyana is not particularly aware that she has become a record holder: “I am not interested in this,” she says with a smile.

How can you explain your result yourself? Did you study well throughout school?

– Until the ninth grade, I was mostly an excellent student, I graduated from the ninth grade with a red certificate. In the 11th grade I already studied worse, there were two fours – mathematics and chemistry. I never had problems with my studies, but I was never a nerd either, I tried to spend time with family and friends, do what I like, for example, play the guitar. Success at the exam, in my opinion, consists of several factors. First, it’s work. During the year, you need to work, see your mistakes, work on them, know your weaknesses and try to improve in your weaknesses, remember your strengths and be sure to use them. Secondly, learn to deal with stress. No matter what anyone says, exams are a stressful situation for the body, for the brain. But panicking won’t do you any good on the exam. You need to be able to collect your thoughts, with strength, and give all the best at the right time.

Do you have a secret to dealing with stress?

– Of course, I was also worried, but I did not have panic, trembling in my knees. I said to myself: I have been preparing all year, I have been studying, and everything should work out for me! The main thing is to let go now. Do not think about the fact that I may not have finished my studies during the year, did not finish it, do not think about points at all. I’m just here and now, and I’m in control of the situation, I can do everything that depends on me. You can also drink water and wash your face with cold water, for example, it helped me: when I felt tired at the exam, I went out and washed, you can also eat a chocolate bar.

– How did you perceive every 100 points that you received?

– I took basic mathematics (it has no points), Russian language, literature, history and social studies, five in total. The first came 100 points for literature, and I was just very worried about it, it was unexpected, but I was very happy. The next one was Russian, and also 100 points. If we talk about Russian, then I understood that I could get 100, for me this is not the most difficult subject, the main thing is not to screw up. In mathematics, I had a five, the maximum number of points, which was also nice. In history, I got 96 points, but I was not upset, on the contrary, I was happy, because I did not hope that I would pass such a high score. I had only one mistake in the “general history” (it was a new task). In social studies – again 100 points, it turned out such a happy ending.

Ulyana said that she did not study with tutors, but she studied online courses to prepare for the Unified State Examination in four subjects (10-15 thousand rubles per month, which is much cheaper than tutors). It would seem that with such scores, the doors of the best universities for Ulyana should have been wide open. But her goal was Moscow State University, and therefore she passed four more additional exams there, and she wrote not only for the “dream faculty”, philological (getting 75 points), but also for journalism, political science, philosophy and religious studies, where she received even higher DWI scores. But Ulyana still went to philology. In the ranking, she was tenth, and by agreement – fourth.

“I realized back in the 9th grade that I wanted to be a philologist or teach, or you can combine it: to be a teacher of Russian language and literature,” says Ulyana. – I knew that I would go into the humanitarian sphere. The target was MSU. Therefore, I passed five subjects in the Unified State Examination, since at Moscow State University, history (plus the Russian language and literature) was required for domestic philology, and social studies for other universities in this area.

– Did you participate in the Olympiads?

– Participated, but did not really succeed. There was already a choice, to prepare for the Olympiads or for the Unified State Examination.

– Can you give any practical advice to future graduates?

– I tried to do nothing in terms of mental stress the day before the exam. No books or films. I did not repeat the material, because it loads the brain. I just gave him the opportunity to relax: I walked, admired nature, painted pictures, listened to classical music. So I set up. I also had a tradition of writing notes to myself the evening before the exam and then reading them in the morning before the exam. These were such encouraging notes that I would succeed. During the entire preparation, one should not forget about rest, about favorite things. For example, I played the guitar, it helped to distract. On the exam itself, you need to fight for every score, never back down, not be afraid of difficult tasks, you need to think about them. Even some of the craziest ideas can turn out to be right, so don’t skip tasks.

– How do you feel about the exam?

– So far, in my opinion, in Russia there is nothing to replace the Unified State Examination, except for the entrance exams at the university. Of course, the USE is not perfect. For example, he is devoid of a creative component, does not allow showing his individuality. For example, the entrance exams at Moscow State University were more creative, they are aimed at revealing you. This is much more interesting, although more difficult. But it is not for me to judge the USE, this is done by specialists.
