On Wednesday, April 3, Evgeny Melezhikov was appointed to the position of executive director of RPL. He replaced Sergei Cheban at the post. The press service of the League reports this.
Sergei Cheban, in turn, was offered the position of advisor.
Evgeny Melezhikov is a graduate of the Tula Higher Artillery Engineering School. He worked at Spartak and was the general director of the Moscow club. In the same position, he took part in the transfer of Daniil Khlusevich from Arsenal Tula to the red-white camp.
In a recent interview, Melezhikov also talked about how he studied in our region, where he met his love.
“I was AWOL. The training was according to plan, but instead of the pool and stadium I went to a friend’s house in a neighboring town. I was returning and at the bus station in Novomoskovsk I noticed a pretty girl. When we got out in Tula, I plucked up courage, came up and spoke,” he told the publication “Sport Express» Evgeniy Melezhikov.
According to him, his beloved studied in Tula and lived in a dormitory, where he periodically went with flowers. Two years later, the couple legalized their relationship, and soon children were born.
