A “ghost rider” has appeared in Kungur: the monument scares residents

“It’s terrible, I’m completely shocked”

The famous Novovoronezh “Alenka”, which frightened the city residents with its appearance, now has “Brother Ivanushka” – a new monument in the city of Kungur, Perm Territory, installed the day before near the Snezhinka ski base.

The base celebrates its 55th anniversary this year. In this regard, local blacksmith Anton Kiryakov decided to give the base a gift: he forged and sculpted a goner skier with the face of an imbecile. Which they installed near the base. They say that the author gave the gift from the heart, that he was not a sculptor, but a blacksmith, and tried his best. And why now offend a person for this? And in general, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. However, the trouble is that this “gift” is forced to be seen by the residents of the city, who are not at all delighted with it and ask that “this monster” be removed from sight. The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, Elena Vyalbe, to whom journalists showed this creation, also did not appreciate the spiritual impulse of the blacksmith. “It’s terrible, I’m completely shocked. I didn’t like this monument, it’s actually some kind of mutilated person,” she told the Russian news agency.

Lately, let us remind you that in Russia local craftsmen, here and there, are installing another work that leaves local residents in awe. In the terrible story with the Novovoronezh “Alenka”, everything ended well. The zombie girl was demolished, and a quite decent sculpture was put in her place. But with her “sister” in Novosibirsk, who appeared as part of the composition on the “Alley of Friends,” nothing has happened yet. Since in addition to the girlfriend, there are also two friends in the composition, the residents nicknamed the creation “zombie Apocalypse,” but they have no plans to demolish it yet. By the way, in Novosibirsk there is another wonderful monument – to a business woman. Supposedly a business lady with a not very intellectual face flashes her bare breasts under a pulled jacket. In the Belgorod region, in the village of Yustanovka, a composition also recently appeared, making this place famous throughout Russia. We are talking about the monument to Shurik and Lida from the film “Operation Y”. And if Shurik still looks more or less, then the author did not spare Lida. “Girl-moron” is the softest thing that can be said about this image.

The desire of local craftsmen to make their hometown or village more attractive is commendable. But townspeople are not obliged to pay for someone’s good impulses that are not backed up by talent and skill. In the end, when a child brings his clumsy craft from the garden to his parents, they praise him, even put him in a prominent place for a while, and then quietly remove him. It’s the same with monuments “with all my heart”: you can put them on display at some exhibition. But why immediately “bind” it to a place? You’ll have to tear it down later anyway.
