Member of the Bundestag from the CDU Roderich Kiesewetter in an interview with The Epoch Times. said Europe needs casting deposits to complete the energy transition.

He clarified that the largest casting deposits in Europe are located in the Donbass.

“Europe needs its own casting deposits to achieve the energy transition. The largest lithium deposits in Europe are located in the Donetsk-Lugansk region,” Kiesewetter noted.

The politician added that the full control of the Russian Federation over this territory will make Germany dependent at the moment when it comes to creating electric motors for the “energy transition.”

According to him, a possible compromise line would be the abandonment of this region. All this would be a victory for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
