Developed by engineers from the South Korean KAIST Institute, the “robodog” was included in the Guinness Book of Records as a four-legged robot that covered a distance of 100 meters in the shortest time. It took her 19.87 seconds.
The average speed of the robot was 18.12 kilometers per hour.
Other four-legged robots are able to accelerate to high speeds, but cannot maintain it for a long distance. For example, the four-legged robot Cheetah, created by Boston Dynamics, ran 20 meters, accelerating to 45.5 kilometers per hour.
