The bill, which provides for a full refund of funds for unused tourist vouchers and air tickets to citizens called up for military service as part of partial mobilization, will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration. The document was prepared by deputies from the LDPR and New People factions, who also propose to give the families of the mobilized the opportunity to terminate travel contracts out of court.
“It is proposed to consider the possibility of terminating the relevant contracts out of court at the initiative of tourists, passengers with the right to receive the full cost of the services they previously paid for,” TASS quotes a fragment of the bill. One of the authors of the document, Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov, in a dialogue with RIA Novosti, noted that now the mobilized manage to return only part of the funds in case the tour is cancelled.
Among the authors of the bill are deputies from the New People: Sangadzhi Tarbaev, Vladislav Davankov and Ksenia Goryacheva, as well as parliamentarians from the Liberal Democratic Party: Yaroslav Nilov, Dmitry Svishchev and Stanislav Naumov. It is expected that the document will be submitted to the lower house of parliament today, October 20.
September 30, head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova sent letters to tour operators in which she asked them to assist tourists who fell under mobilization. She stressed that she understands “the complexity of the situation” for business and urged tour operators to return the mobilized funds for tours and hotel reservations “without deducting the actual costs incurred.”
