State Duma deputies Natalya Kostenko, Ivan Demchenko and Andrey Doroshenko (all from United Russia) introduced a bill to the lower house of parliament to improve the system for timely informing heirs about the testator’s loans. Document published in the electronic database.
The document proposes to include in the duties of notaries the process of sending requests to the Central Catalog of Credit Histories to obtain information about the credit history of the testator or the absence of such information. This must be done no later than three working days after the opening of inheritance cases. If the testator has credit obligations, the notary must notify the heirs in writing during the period of acceptance of the inheritance.
The explanatory note to the bill states that the initiative will allow the heirs to make an economically rational decision in a timely manner on the advisability of inheriting or refusing to inherit, which will thereby reduce the level of debt load of citizens in the country.
The previous bill of deputies on the repayment of consumer credit (loan), together with the interest due at the expense of insurance compensation, was submitted to the State Duma in July this year.
