A draft law on indexation of pensions for NPO employees will be submitted to the State Duma

Pensioners working in socially oriented non-profit organizations (NPOs) can be withdrawn from the number of insured persons for indexation of their pension payments on a general basis. This is envisaged by the bill, which deputies from the LDPR will submit to the State Duma (DG) today for consideration.
According to Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, this initiative will be able to increase the income of pensioners who volunteer to work in NGOs. In the explanatory note to the bill, which was published by the deputy in his Telegram channelit is indicated that the current mechanism in Russia for recalculating the insurance pension does not compensate citizens for inflationary costs.
“They (veteran organizations.— “b”) complained that many pensioners work for rather modest wages in NPOs engaged in public service. And the pension, like that of other working pensioners, is unfairly not indexed,” wrote Mr. Nilov.
In May in the State Duma announced introduction of an automatic mechanism for indexing pensions and social benefits. Then the lower house of parliament noted that the estimated amount of indexation of payments could be 9%.
