The leaders of all Duma factions, as well as the speaker of the lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, submitted a bill for consideration, according to which the spouses of servicemen who died in Ukraine will be able to claim maximum social support measures. The project, in particular, provides for the abolition of the requirement of “solitary residence” for military spouses in order to receive benefits.
“All spouses of servicemen who died in the line of duty will receive maximum measures of social support,” the press service of the State Duma reports.
According to the current legislation, spouses who live not only with children, but also with other family members, cannot claim the same benefits as widows living exclusively with their children. “Our bill eliminates this. The widows of our fighters should not go around the circles of bureaucratic hell, as if they had little grief, ”senator Andrei Turchak commented on the document in his Telegram.
