A doctor from Pestov became the world champion in high-repetition bench press

Igor Zvezdin, a radiologist at the Pestovsk Central District Hospital, took first place at the World Championships in the “multi-repetition bench press” discipline, the Ministry of Health of the Novgorod Region reported on December 28.
The championship took place on December 16-17 at the Expocentre exhibition complex in Moscow. The full name of the competition is: IX World Championships in powerlifting, powerlifting, bench press, military bench press, folk bench press, Russian bench press, deadlift, strict biceps curl, arm lifting and street lifting according to WRPF/WEPF/WAF/WSF versions.
The large-scale competition brought together about three thousand participants from almost 30 countries and 82 Russian regions. Together with Igor Zvezdin, his athlete Arina Vikhareva went to the championship.
The regional Ministry of Health noted that Novgorod doctors not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but also adhere to it themselves.
