A court in St. Petersburg fined a Russian woman for an action near the embassy in Stockholm

The Kirovsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined Russian woman Marina Bloom after participating in protests in Sweden. She was charged with participation in the activities of an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation), the fine amounted to 10 thousand rubles, Kommersant was told in the joint press service of the city courts.
A protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up regarding the “Tank at the Russian Embassy” action in Stockholm, which was organized by the “Russian Anti-War Committee in Sweden” (included in the register of undesirable organizations). According to the investigation, Ms. Bluma took part in protests near the Russian mission on May 9. As the committee reported on social networks, from May 9 to May 28, an installation of a dilapidated T-90 tank was installed near the embassy. It was reported that the installation symbolized Russia’s defeat in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
The case materials were provided by the prosecutor’s office. They did not respond to Kommersant’s request about how Russian law enforcement officers learned about the St. Petersburg woman’s protests abroad. At the same time, Marina Bluma’s full namesake is registered in one of the photo stocks: she published photographs from protest rallies, showing posters with inscriptions in Swedish. The website of clinical neurobiologist Marina Bluma is registered under the same name. According to the information on the website, she was born and raised in St. Petersburg, and after receiving higher education she entered a university in Germany in 2012, then a university in Italy in 2017, and later became an employee of Karolinska University in Stockholm. Kommersant tried to contact her, but received no response.
In December 2022, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the non-governmental organization “Russian Anti-War Committee in Sweden” (Ryska Antikrigskommitteten i Sverige) as undesirable. This was associated with “threats to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation.” Later committee contributed to the register of undesirable organizations in accordance with the federal law “On measures of influence on persons involved in violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms, the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Russian Federation” based on the decision of First Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Razinkin.
