Central District Court of Orenburg arrested owner of the Pose club under the article on organizing an extremist community (Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code). He will remain in pre-trial detention until May 18. Earlier, club administrator Diana Kamilyanova and art director Alexandra Klimov were arrested under the same article.

The court press service does not name the owner. According to Kommersant, V. Khasanov is listed as a defendant in the case materials. Presumably, we are talking about entrepreneur Vyacheslav Khasanov, whose individual entrepreneur is registered in Bashkiria. On March 29, 2023, videos filmed at the Pose club in Ufa were published on Vyacheslav Khasanov’s social networks. The Ufa club is currently closed. Closing date unknown.

The owner is also accused of filming performances of artists in the bar and distributing photographs and videos “promoting non-traditional sexual relationships and preferences.” It is noted that the photos and videos were posted in a “group in the Telegram messenger.”

March 29 local edition Orenday wrote, citing sources, that the owner of Pose was detained at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport on March 28. The arrest of the club owner was not officially reported.

On March 18, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, announced the initiation of a criminal case against the Pose club. She clarified that this is the first criminal case in Russia after the Supreme Court in 2023 recognized the “International LGBT Movement” as extremist and banned it in the Russian Federation. On the same day, it became known about searches at the club. According to Ms. Mizulina, local activists drew attention to the club. Videos of the searches were also published by activists of the Russian Community of Orenburg.

March 21 Central District Court of Orenburg arrested art director of the Pose club Alexander Klimov and administrator Diana Kamilyanova under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code. On March 30, Rosfinmonitoring included them in the list of terrorists and extremists.
