A court in Moscow sentenced a businessman accused of treason

A court in Moscow sentenced 13 years in a maximum security colony to Moscow region businessman Akhatjon Zokhidov, accused of high treason and attempted arms smuggling. This was reported by the press service of the court.
“…Akhatjon Zokhidov was found guilty of committing crimes under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason) and Part 3 of Article 30, Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted weapons smuggling)…” the judge said.
The culprit was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The Moscow City Court also restricted the defendant’s freedom for a year and a half.
Since the materials of the criminal case contain secret information, the case was considered in a format closed to the public and journalists. What is known is that Zokhidov was detained and arrested in the fall of 2022.
