A court in Moscow partially upheld Kozlovsky’s claim against the head of the FPBC, Borodin.

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow partially satisfied the claim of Honored Artist of Russia Danila Kozlovsky for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation against the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption (FPBC), its head Vitaly Borodin and the TASS agency. The court found the information about the actor that Mr. Borodin disseminates on his Telegram channel to be untrue and ordered it to be deleted and a refutation issued, reported press service Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

“The court recovered from Vitaly Nikolaevich Borodin in favor of Danila Valerievich Kozlovsky compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1 ruble. The rest of the claim was rejected,” the press service added. It is clarified that Vitaly Borodin is obliged to publish a refutation in his Telegram channel in the form of a message about the decision of the Presnensky District Court with the heading “Refutation”.

Vitaly Borodin wrote in Telegram, which is appealing the court decision. According to him, the court made a decision based on the expert opinion provided by Mr. Kozlovsky’s lawyers. Vitaly Borodin said that the expert would definitely be summoned to a higher authority in court and recalled that for giving a knowingly false conclusion there is criminal liability under Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

“This is the first instance. We still have a second and a third ahead. There’s still more to come. The court ordered me to pay Kozlovsky one ruble. No one will pay him anything until we go through all the courts,” added Vitaly Borodin.

In April, the head of the FPBC sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to check Danila Kozlovsky under the article on discrediting the army. Vitaly Borodin believes that Mr. Kozlovsky spoke out against the Russian military operation in Ukraine. The statement notes that the actor was leaving for the United States, and in an interview with journalist Irina Shikhman (recognized as a foreign agent) dated April 14, 2021, he “called on citizens to go to rallies” and expressed sympathy for opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

In response to an appeal from Vitaly Borodin, the actor filed a claim against him for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. Details of the claim were not specified. In his Telegram channel, Mr. Kozlovsky explainedthat he went to the USA to visit his child. The actor considered calls to go to protests, for which he was asked to be tested for extremism, taken out of context. In May actor stated, that he decided to go on sabbatical until the end of the year, explaining this by “family circumstances.” 11 September became knownthat the Ministry of Culture did not issue a distribution certificate for the new series “Bar “One Call”,” where Danila Kozlovsky plays the main role.

Vitaly Borodin has repeatedly appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office and other departments with a request to check various Russian figures for administrative and criminal violations. From the beginning of 2023, he asked to initiate checks against Liya Akhedzhakova, Alla Pugacheva, Semyon Slepakov (declared a foreign agent), Diana Arbenina and Valery Meladze.
