Moscow authorities can allocate a special zone with a length of 87 km to test the operation of drones. The Moscow government is discussing this issue with the State Corporation for Air Traffic Management (ATM), reported Vedomosti drone market source.
The route, almost 100 km long, will run between the flight test complex in the Rudnevo industrial park and the Volosovo airfield near Moscow. This information was confirmed by the publication’s second source in the company that produces drones. The corridor may begin to be used as early as 2024.
According to the publication’s sources, Rudnevo will test unmanned aerial systems weighing up to 30 kg, and heavy and super-heavy drones at third-party testing sites. To this end, the Federal Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems in Rudnevo has already signed four agreements with airfields, including Volosovo, the source says.
By the end of the year, testing of drones will also begin in Innopolisas well as on territories SEZ “Alabuga”.
