A Christmas rapid chess tournament took place in the Okulovsky district. The event took place in the Kulotinsky City House of Culture, the Chess Federation of the Novgorod Region said.
The tournament was played according to the Swiss system in seven rounds with a time control of 10 minutes per game, plus five seconds for each move. It is reported that the competition was a bitter struggle, and the winner’s Cup was won by Dmitry Konstantinov. Vladimir Georgiev took second place, and Gennady Slavkin took third place.
Competitions were also held in age categories among children under 12 years old and over 14 years old. All competition participants received sweet Christmas gifts, and the winners and prize-winners of the tournament were awarded medals and certificates from the Office of Physical Culture and Sports of the Okulovsky District Administration.
