The public association of chess players in Michurinsk was founded five years ago. For the first three years they gathered only in the summer in the park. Last year, the mayor of the city, Maxim Kharnikov, allocated a building to the association, in which the club was solemnly opened as part of the chess festival last weekend.
Within the framework of the festival, a session of simultaneous playing on 18 boards was held under the guidance of Tambov FIDE masters Igor Uryupin and Sergey Vyaznikov. Among 16 young chess players, following the results of the game, Ekaterina Beketova, a pupil of Alexander Alekseev, became the best.
