A charity tournament “Championship of the Winners” was held in the Kostroma region

During it, children from families of SVO participants, as well as from large families and pupils of rehabilitation centers talked with famous football players.

The initiators of this action were the Wind of Good Changes charity fund, the administration of the Kostroma region and Sovcombank. Eight teams took part in the competition, made up of pupils from social rehabilitation centers, children from large and single-parent families, adolescents with disabilities, as well as children participating in the special military operation of the Kostroma region.

During the competition, the guys had the opportunity to meet, chat and even play football with famous football players, one of whom was the winner of the UEFA Cup in 2005 as part of CSKA Evgeny Aldonin. Together with him, Oleg Romantsev, Rinat Dasaev and Vagiz Khidiyatullin came to Kostroma.

The governor of the Kostroma region, Sergei Sitnikov, opening the tournament, noted that this is a great holiday, since real legends of Soviet and Russian football arrived in the region. “This is a unique opportunity for our boys and girls who are fond of football to communicate with great athletes. I sincerely thank the Wind of Good Changes Foundation, Sovcombank, for organizing the holiday, which is actively and lovingly supporting football in Kostroma. Today in the region we have created conditions for children from all over the region to be able to professionally play football at the regional school named after Georgy Yartsev. My belief is that boys from the regions should play in the national teams of the regions. This is what mass sports will develop. In the region, a base for training young football players has been created, we need to help the boys get up, go forward and up, ”the head of the Kostroma region emphasized.

All participants of the qualifying stage, held in the Kostroma region, will receive commemorative diplomas and special prizes. And the winning team will go to the superfinal in Moscow.

In the Kostroma region, football is very popular, today more than 12 thousand people are involved in it, including more than a thousand children professionally. Of these, more than 300 are guys from the sports school named after Georgy Aleksandrovich Yartsev. Regional authorities actively help in the development of youth football.

Last year, on the basis of the regional football school, a boarding school was created for 24 people – these are guys over 12 years old from different municipalities of the Kostroma region.
