A case was opened against the journalist Prokopieva for discrediting the army

In relation to the journalist Svetlana Prokopyeva (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent), an administrative case was opened in the Pskov City Court under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (discrediting the army). The case was opened on September 5, the press service of the court told RIA Novosti.
“It has already been distributed, but hearings have not yet been scheduled,” a court spokesman said, without giving any details of the case. Under this article, Mrs. Prokopieva faces a fine of 30,000 to 500,000 rubles.
The journalist now lives outside the Russian Federation. In the Ministry of Justice spokethat they recognized her as a foreign agent because she opposed the military operation in Ukraine. Also, Svetlana Prokopyeva allegedly received support from foreign sources and participated in the creation and distribution of information materials of other foreign agents.
