A boxing tournament will take place in Severodvinsk

From April 19 to 21, the 36th tournament in memory of the founders of the “city of shipbuilders” boxing school, Valery Nikolaevich Vlasov and Vladimir Aleksandrovich Chaplinsky, will take place in Severodvinsk. Also, as part of these competitions, the Arkhangelsk region boxing championship among adult athletes will be held.
According to the organizers, the tournament in memory of the founders of the Severodvinsk boxing school will unite about 150 boxers from the Arkhangelsk region. The honorary guests of the competition will again be: the champion of the USSR, two-time winner of the USSR Cup, winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, the 1986 Goodwill Games Alexander Artemyev, as well as the champion of the world, Europe and national championship, winner of the 1986 Goodwill Games and the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, winner of the legendary boxer Roy Jones – Igor Ruzhnikov.
“The competition will be held in three age categories – senior boys, juniors and adults,” said Minister of Sports Alexey Aksyonov. – The organizers want to approach the issue of holding the tournament as creatively as possible – girls from the Nymphea dance theater will perform at the opening. In addition, during the competition it is planned to premiere a documentary film about the history of the creation and development of boxing in Severodvinsk.
The opening of the tournament will take place on April 19 at 17:00. The semi-final fights begin on April 20 at 12:00, the final fights will take place on April 21 at 12:00.
