Mikael Harutyunyan will fight with local athlete Weera Chuenphueak in Bangkok. If he wins, the Volgograd resident will rise in the rankings and get closer to becoming a world champion.
The fight between Harutyunyan and Chuenphak is scheduled for February 29, 2024. According to an athlete from the hero city, a successful performance in Bangkok “will provide an opportunity to fight for new world titles”.
Previously, the boxer won the Asian lightweight champion title. Then he sent his opponent to a technical knockout in the first round.
Mikael’s previous fight in December 2023 ended in defeat for the Volgograd resident. Questionable refereeing resulted in a lowering of the athlete’s competitive rating.
“Now I rise to approach the world lightweight boxing title. And I need to win brightly in order to rise and gain a foothold in the rankings,” said Harutyunyan.
