A bill has been prepared providing for punishment for speeding on an electric scooter, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the author of the bill, Senator Artem Sheikin.
As noted, the bill will concern bicycles, electric scooters and other means of individual mobility (SIM). The fine for speeding on them can reach 5 thousand rubles.
Sheikin noted that changes in the rules of the road on speed limits SIM are effective from March 1, but they are often not observed.
“One of the reasons: the lack of responsibility for violation of traffic rules by a new category of road users – persons driving SIM,” Sheikin said.
The bill is planned to be submitted to the State Duma in autumn. It provides for different amounts of fines for speeding on the SIM. The largest amount of the fine will have to be paid when exceeding the established speed of the SIM or bicycle by more than 20 kilometers per hour, for this you will have to pay an administrative fine in the amount of five thousand rubles, and in case of fixing it with a camera – 4500 rubles.
