Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that there is a trend towards an annual decrease in the number of HIV-infected people in all regions of the Russian Federation.
The minister noted that at the end of 2019, there is a positive trend. The number of new HIV infections is falling: from 85,000 people in 2017 to 80,000 in 2019. At the same time, the number of patients undergoing examinations is increasing every year.
Former Minister of Health declared about the need to increase the number of medical personnel in new regions of Russia. According to him, it is necessary to increase the staffing of these territories with medical workers.
As Murashko clarified, for this purpose, among other things, Donetsk and Lugansk Medical Universities “will join the system of higher Russian medical education.”
