Kadyrov called to prevent civil persecution on ethnic grounds

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, believes that in Russia, against the backdrop of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, they are trying to “shatter the situation” by using the national issue. He called for the prevention of civil persecution based on nationality or religion.

“We already see how enemies are trying to undermine the situation from within, as always using the national issue. <...> Under no circumstances should civil persecution be allowed on ethnic or religious grounds,” Mr. Kadyrov wrote in Telegram.

The head of Chechnya noted that there are “alarming calls when individual false patriots, far from state national policy and national security, play on people’s feelings and call for fascist methods.” “We are already successfully fighting neo-Nazism, and nothing will prevent us from also successfully fighting nationalist manifestations within the country. The conversation with instigators of ethnic cleansing will be short, within the framework of the iron law of the Russian Federation. So let’s look at things prudently, be objective citizens and useful to the state, and not voluntary free puppets of Western intelligence services,” added Mr. Kadyrov.

On the evening of March 22, before the start of the concert of the Picnic group, armed people burst into Crocus, opened fire on the people inside, set fire to the premises and disappeared. More than 130 people were killed and more than 140 were injured. Four suspects in the attack and seven of their accomplices were detained on March 23. Foreign citizens are suspected of the attack.
