In American Platteville (Colorado) passenger train crashed into a police car with a woman in handcuffs. The officers abandoned the car right on the railroad tracks.

Irene Rios-Gonzalez’s car was stopped by officers after they received a report of a shooting at nearby Fort Lipton. The woman parked her car near the road, the police stopped their car right on the tracks.

Ríos-González was asked to get out of the car, raise her hands, then she was handcuffed and put into a patrol car. The woman was confused, she did not understand what was happening.

Judging by the frames of the surveillance camera, after the detainee was in the police car, the signal of an approaching train was heard. One of the officers immediately before the collision shouted: “Run!”.

Lawyer Paul Wilkinson said the woman miraculously survived. She had several broken ribs, an arm, a fractured sternum, and several head injuries. But doctors believe that she will recover.

The human rights activist said that his client desperately tried to get out of the car, but the doors were closed. He called the incident shocking. An investigation is underway.
