Students of private universities can be called up for partial mobilization

Students studying at private universities in Russia may be subject to partial mobilization. The Ministry of Education and Science is consulting on this issue. This was reported TASS with reference to the department’s hotline.

“So far, the presidential decree says that (they have a deferment from conscription – “b”) students only of state educational organizations,” the hotline reported. They added that they are consulting on the issue of recruiting students from private universities.

Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree on deferral of mobilization for full-time and part-time students. At the Ministry of Education later explainedthat graduate students also fall under the decree.
