In large cities and regions of the Russian Federation, there is currently a multidirectional movement in the incidence of COVID-19. In conversation with “Lentoy.ru” virologist, Professor Petr Chumakov shared a forecast regarding the timing of the decline in the spread.

A new wave of the incidence of COVID-19 broke out in large cities earlier and a decline is already planned there, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences shared his observation. In the regions, however, there is now an increase.

The decline in large cities will continue, and “we will see a significant decline within two to three weeks,” Chumakov believes. “In the regions, it will probably be another month and a half,” he said. “It seems to me that there will be a clear decline in the country in about a month and a half,” said the professor.

Predicting the development of the situation, according to the virologist, is very difficult, since each wave and type of virus is unique.
