Employees of one of the contractors at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg went on strike due to non-payment of wages. About the incident informs “Fontanka” and publishes a video: the workers chant “If there is money – there will be work” and demand a meeting with the management.

According to the publication, on September 15, about 100 employees of the contractor refused to go to work, demanding the repayment of wage arrears for July. It is reported that the director did not come out to the employees, but one of the leaders promised that the debts would be paid off by September 20. After that, as reported, at the request of the direct management, the workers returned to the line, but they work “in slow motion” and allow a hunger strike at the workplace in case of non-payment on the 20th.

It is also reported that the strikers believe that the non-payment of wages may be related to the recent fire at the shipyards – in early August trawler under construction caught fire.

At the same time, the press service of the Admiralty Shipyards emphasized that a “misunderstanding” arose in the team of the contractor, and the shipyards themselves pay their employees salaries in full.
