In Ukraine, they proposed removing the “limitedly fit” status for military service. This was stated by the Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets. He emphasized that if a person is not able to hold a weapon and fight on the front line, then he can be useful elsewhere.
So the ombudsman suggested sending such people to serve at headquarters. In addition, in his opinion, citizens of limited fitness can serve in the missile forces or work in the IT field.
Lubinets recalled that often a certificate was issued to a person who did not have any health problems. Conversely, people who had illnesses documented over many years of observation were eligible for conscription.
