India received the first signals from its Pragyan spacecraft on the moon, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
So, the device for the first time made temperature measurements at the south pole of the moon, demonstrating its changes as it dives, up to 60 degrees Celsius.
Such a high temperature surprised the researchers. The information provided by the apparatus is currently being analyzed.
The descent module of the Indian mission “Chandrayan-3” with a lunar rover on board landed on August 23. India has become the fourth country to land its own spacecraft on the Moon – after the USSR, the US and China – and the first in the world to soft-land on the south pole of the moon.
