The Russian Emergencies Ministry is conducting successful tests on the use of heavy drones to extinguish fires in residential skyscrapers and high-rise industrial facilities. About this within the framework of the business program of the I All-Russian Games “Smart City. Live in sports”, held in Saratov, said Sergey Koleganov, Head of the Department of Advanced Technologies of the Department of Educational and Scientific and Technical Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

Operators are now learning how to simultaneously lift several heavy drones up to 100 meters high so that large-diameter fire hoses can quickly launch an effective foam attack.

As Koleganov explained to MK, pilot projects for the use of powerful UAVs are being carried out at the department’s facilities in Balashikha (Moscow Region) and in Orenburg. In the near future, drones will replenish the fleet of Russian rescuers. Recall that currently dangerous fires in high-rise buildings are eliminated with the help of aircraft, helicopters or special vehicles.
