Every fifth Russian considers food to be an expensive commodity

An expensive product is a relative concept and strongly depends on the financial capabilities, social status and lifestyle of the respondents, showed survey VCIOM. Most often, Russians called cars and auto parts expensive goods. In second place are real estate (including apartments, houses, cottages) and land plots. Closes the top 3 household and electronic appliances (TVs, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, washing machines). At the same time, every fifth respondent (21%) called various food products expensive. They were mentioned much more often than jewelry (8%), aircraft, yachts, helicopters (4%), which are considered attributes of a luxurious life. At the same time, in the older age group (60+) and among respondents with a low consumer status, food was included in the top three most popular answers.
Computers and gadgets, medicines, gasoline (3% each), medical services, in particular dentistry, and travel (2%) were mentioned less often as expensive. 13% of respondents could not name expensive goods in general, and 1%, on the contrary, consider everything as such.
